Pakistan’s First-Ever Governance Reforms Report Launched: A Comprehensive Review of 120+ Reforms in 11 Months

Islamabad, Pakistan – February 9, 2025 – Mishal Pakistan, the Country Partner Institute of the World Economic Forum’s New Economic and Societies Platform, has released the Pakistan Reforms Report 2025, a groundbreaking initiative documenting over 120 key reforms implemented by the Shahbaz Sharif government since March 2024. Spanning a full assessment period from January 2024 to January 2025, the report provides an in-depth, data-driven analysis of governance, policy, and institutional transformations.

For the first time in Pakistan’s history, a structured effort has been made to systematically document government-led reforms across various sectors, including governance, economic policies, legal frameworks, and institutional efficiency. This initiative offers a transparent and accurate overview of Pakistan’s policy evolution, allowing key stakeholders—policymakers, businesses, and global institutions—to evaluate and engage with the country’s governance trajectory.

Unlike most international reports that assess reforms from January to May, Pakistan Reforms Report 2025 covers a full year, offering a holistic, evidence-based evaluation of governance, accountability, and inclusivity reforms.

A Milestone in Governance Documentation

At the report’s launch, Amir Jahangir, CEO of Mishal Pakistan, emphasized its significance:

“The Pakistan Reforms Report 2025 is a pioneering initiative aimed at bridging the knowledge gap in governance reforms. While international assessments often rely on fragmented data, this report provides a full-spectrum analysis of how Pakistan has transformed under the Shahbaz Sharif administration.”

He further stated that by structuring and making reform data accessible, the report empowers policymakers, businesses, and international institutions with the necessary insights to engage with Pakistan’s evolving governance landscape.
